Who is legally required to take TDG training?
Under Transport Canada regulations, any person who handles, offers for transport, or transports dangerous goods must be adequately trained and hold a valid TDG training certificate. This includes warehouse staff packing boxes, forklift drivers loading trailers, and administrative staff signing shipping documents.
How long are TDG certificates valid?
Validity periods depend on the mode of transport. A TDG by Ground certificate is valid for three (3) years. Because aviation regulations update more frequently, a TDG by Air (IATA) certificate is only valid for twenty-four (24) months. Employers must ensure workers are recertified before these expirations.
Can an employee fail the course?
