Lockout tagout program

When we work on equipment for maintenance, unblocking, repair or cleaning, several types of energies are involved. Whether it be electrical, hydraulic, static, pneumatic, mechanical, kinetic or even radioactive, the strength of these types of energies are often more than enough to cause serious injuries and/or death. The proper management and supervision of dangerous types of energy associated with machinery or equipment enables you to prevent any inadvertent energy releases.

Preventis System develops programs and lockout procedures while taking into account the specific needs of individual organizations. All procedures or lockout programs are elaborated in accordance with laws, regulations and standards related to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (OHSR), the Canadian Labour Code (Part ll – Occupational health and safety) as well as the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z460-13 (Control of hazardous energy – Lockout and other methods).

Equipment assessment (data collection)

Our team of OHS specialists will visit your establishment to assess, identify and characterize your equipment requiring lock out. If this step is already done then our specialists will validate and approve the processes in place to accelerate the implementation of the program.

Development of a lockout program

Give us the task of putting in place the policies and procedures required by the law, in collaboration with your internal resources in order to favor the management of the program. If this step is already done then our specialists will validate and approve the processes in place to accelerate the implementation of the program.

Creation of lockout procedures (hazardous energies)

At Preventis System we value the ownership of the programs by the internal resources, which means that we will train a team of in-house specialists who will be able to evaluate the equipment to lockout and produce the complete procedures to control all hazardous energies. Our team always remains available to assist you and ensure quality control.

Online availability of your lockout procedures

In the end, your lockout procedures will be made available via the Preventis application to all your employees, ensuring everybody follows the appropriate safety procedures when performing maintenance on various equipment.

Training

Training is a part of the lockout program and is carried out throughout the implementation process.

A LOCKOUT (TAGOUT) PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES:

A full analysis of currently implemented systems: procedures, mechanisms, equipment, roles, responsibilities, etc.;
Validation of existing systems or establishment of a proper structure to code and identify equipment;
Risk assessment and control of all types of hazardous energy involved in procedures on equipment or in situations requiring lockout.
Redaction or validation of lockout procedures;
Record keeping of gathered information and data through our online “Intervention security / lockout” module;
Support through the implementation of our lockout program including training for its main users;
UNLIMITTED access to the “Intervention security / lockout” module including but not limited to: codified equipment records, possibility to create, modify and consult lockout sheets, etc.
