Confined spaces

Entering and working in confined spaces are not without risk. All confined spaces present various dangers related to their structure, their design and their purpose. Preventis System assists organizations in developing and implementing programs for safe entry and work in confined spaces.

The programs and procedures that Preventis System implements for entry and work in confined spaces are elaborated in accordance with laws, regulations and standards related to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (OHSR), the Canadian Labour Code (Part ll – Occupational health and safety) as well as the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z1006-10 (Management of Work in Confined Spaces).

Identification and characterization (data collection)

Our team of OHS specialists will visit your establishment to assess, identify and characterize your confined spaces. If this step is already done then our specialists will validate and approve the processes in place to accelerate the implementation of the program.

Development of a work in confined spaces program

Give us the task of putting in place the policies and procedures required by the law, in collaboration with your internal resources in order to favor the management of the program. If this step is already done then our specialists will validate and approve the processes in place to accelerate the implementation of the program.

Creation of work permits for work in confined spaces

At Preventis System we value the ownership of the programs by the internal resources, which means that we will train a team of in-house specialists who will be able to evaluate the confined space and produce the complete fact sheets and permits. Our team always remains available to assist you and ensure quality control.

AN ENTRY AND WORK IN CONFINED SPACES PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES:

  • Inventory, identification and codification of confined spaces:
  • Characterization, risk analysis and the creation of specific datasheets for previously identified confined spaces;
  • Development of a permit for entry and work in confined spaces;
  • Establishment of a correct procedure for entry and work in confined spaces;
  • Record keeping of gathered information and data through our online « Safety during operations / Confined spaces » module;
  • Training of workers and supervisors for safe work procedures in confined spaces;
  • Support through the implementation of the entry and work in confined spaces program including training for its main users;
  • UNLIMITTED access to the « Safety during operations / Confined spaces » module including but not limited to: the job registry, the ability to create, modify and consult tasks relevant to each job, etc.
